Channel-Specific Guidance

TL;DR

Same voice, different tone per channel. Blog is most relaxed. Sales enablement is most direct. Social is authoritative. Email respects the inbox. Every channel: pain → proof → clear CTA.

01

Voice vs. design intensity

Every channel dials voice personality and design structure differently. Blog leans on voice. Landing pages lean on design. Read the bars, not the adjectives.

Blog Posts

Purpose

Build trust, demonstrate expertise, capture organic search, feed the cluster strategy.

Tone

Most personality-forward. Room for opinions, stories, and a point of view.

Avoid: "The Ultimate Guide to [Topic]". Try: "8 Project Management Mistakes You Make Every Day."
1. HookName the pain. Be specific.1–2 sentences
2. AgitateShow downstream consequences.1–2 paragraphs
3. InsightReal perspective or framework.Bulk of the post
4. ConnectShow how Workzone fits naturally.1–2 paragraphs
5. CTALow-friction. 'See how it works'.1 sentence
03

Email Campaigns

Purpose

Nurture, activate, re-engage, convert. Every email has one job.

Tone

Warm but efficient. Respect the inbox. Subject line + first sentence should tell the reader if it's for them.

  • One idea per email. Not two, not three.
  • Short paragraphs (2–3 sentences max).
  • If it's longer than one phone screen, it's too long.
  • CTA says what happens when you click: "See the demo" / "Watch the 2-min walkthrough" / "Book your call".
04

Social Media

the channel that matters most

Purpose

Brand authority and trust. Workzone is the voice that understands how teams actually work.

Tone

Authoritative, knowing, grounded. Industry insider, not quippy brand account.

The authority test: "Could any PM tool post this?" If yes, rewrite it.

Sounds like

  • ✓ Stating what we've observed across hundreds of teams
  • ✓ Naming specific industry patterns
  • ✓ Sharing hard-won insights from sales calls
  • ✓ Taking a clear position

Does NOT sound like

  • ✗ Meme humor or 'relatable content'
  • ✗ Rhetorical engagement bait
  • ✗ Quippy one-liners
  • ✗ "It's Monday, let's crush it" energy
05

Webinars

Purpose

Top-of-funnel awareness and demand. The post-webinar nurture is what converts.

Tone

Conversational and energetic. Shannon's delivery is the benchmark.

  • Titles promise a specific outcome: "How UMKC Stopped Managing Projects in Email (And What Changed in 90 Days)".
  • Slides: minimal text, one idea per slide, max 15 words.
  • Follow-ups reference specific moments from the session.
06

Sales Enablement

Purpose

Send in 10 seconds. Read in 60.

Tone

Most direct version of us. Data-forward, comparison-friendly, skimmable.

  • Lead with the prospect's situation, not our product.
  • Proof points with numbers ("600+ users across 9 departments", not "improved efficiency").
  • Comparison data should be fair and factual. Facts are enough.
  • Single clear next step.
07

Landing Pages

Purpose

Convert. One job: get the visitor to take the next step.

Tone

Structured but still conversational. Pain → proof → CTA.

1. HeroPain headline + outcome subhead + CTA
2. Social proofLogos, customer count, or one strong stat
3. Problem/solutionLead with the before, show the after
4. TestimonialOne specific quote, named customer & org
5. CTA repeatSame CTA. Now with context.
08

Landing page voice patterns (worth stealing)

Pattern 1

"Stop [managing the tool]. Start [managing work]."

Smartsheet page: 'Stop Managing Sheets. Start Managing Work.'

Pattern 2

Bold, confrontational subheadlines that say the quiet part out loud.

"If Smartsheet Worked, You Wouldn't Be Here." · "ClickUp Does Everything. And That's The Problem."

Pattern 3

Closing CTAs that mirror the competitor pain back.

"You bought ClickUp to get organized. Now you're organizing ClickUp. Take your job back."

Pattern 4

Numbered comparison points (01, 02, 03) with punchy subheads.

"Built For Projects, Not Just Data." · "Structure Without The Struggle."

Pattern 5

Testimonials with named org + named competitors they tried first.

Bader Rutter: "We were managing timelines in Smartsheet, but it wasn't cutting it. Monday.com couldn't do it without heavy customization."
